HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

About this opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-backed, early-stage startup in its early stages. As Blueprint's first go-to-market (GTM) team hire, you will participate in both long-term strategic decision-making and highly tactical day-to-day execution. You will be responsible for developing strategies that convey the Blueprint value proposition to target market segments, iterating our messaging for maximum impact, understanding our competition, and supporting our sales efforts. This is a fully remote role that will report directly to the Founder/CEO.

Responsibilities include:

  • Market Development

    • Lead conversations with prospective customers

    • ​Articulate buying centers and personas

    • Iteratively define our value proposition

    • Perform competitive analysis to inform positioning and messaging

    • Work with the founder to get our story out to the right audience with the right content

  • Build the sales playbook

    • Own the narrative​

    • Build out supporting materials (decks, case studies, white papers, etc.)

  • ​Develop Product Segments – Define effective product packaging and pricing segments that capture mutual value

  • ​Market Expertise – Contribute to Product Roadmap by providing an informed and relevant market perspective

Winning factors: Must-have qualifications

  • Demonstrable business development, early-stage sales, or product marketing experience at a fast-growing B2B SaaS company (preferably experience in enterprise sales enablement and value proposition development)

  • Strong understanding about how large corporations operate, are organized, and measure success. Experience marketing products to high-level executives and C-Suite a big plus

  • Hustler, go-getter who gets energy from interacting with new people and is genuinely interested in understanding what makes people and businesses tick

  • Articulate storyteller who’s able to create clear presentations, write most of their own copy, and be self-sufficient when it comes to enablement and client-facing content
